As the Fourth of July approaches I have been reflecting on the garbage state of affairs our country is in and what must be done to make things better. I can look at every administration back to President Richard Nixon and state each one has had a hand in the systematic destruction to what is dear to some of us. Our freedom. I say some of us because many take this for granted. Many are more worried about scripted reality TV than having the government sink the economy right before their eyes. We can look at the protests in Iran recently when Neda Agha Sultan was gunned down. Imagine something like that happening here? No protesters were killed at any Tea Parties. As horrific as the incident was and as simple as it seems, we don't fear being shot to death by the riot police. It's a luxury that was afforded to us by those who came here starting with the Plymouth Landing. I'm not here to give a history lesson. You're old enough to push yourself away from the TV and read about the beginnings of the United States of America. There is nothing wrong with nationalism although some boneheaded politicians would make you think it is. Ask France. This is where Nationalism began. So this Saturday before you hit the beer pong table, the swimming pool or the mixed drinks take a moment and think of the sacrifices made so you can safely sit at a cookout with friends and family. And please do enjoy your weekend!
Best, Frank
The Freedom To Do Whatever by Frank Agostinelli
Because my forefathers fought for their freedom as well as the freedom of future generations of the United States of America I’ve compiled a list. It’s really no big deal. I wanted to keep it somewhat short, to make a point and give examples of some of the freedoms I am lucky to have.
I have to the freedom of stating that punching Perez Hilton in the face will make this world a better place for insulting Carrie Prejean like a middle-school whinebag.
Perez Hilton has the freedom to act like a 12 year old and verbally trash Carrie Prejean because her idea of marriage contrasts with his idea of marriage.
I have the freedom of not speaking to those I deem stupid.
People I deem stupid have the freedom to ask me why I deem them stupid.
I have the freedom to not give a monkey’s anus why Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett. Michael Jackson and Billy Mays all died within days of each other.
Idol worshippers have the freedom to speculate why Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett. Michael Jackson and Billy Mays all died within days of each other.
I have the freedom of protesting this government’s wasteful spending and not have to worry about being shot and killed for doing so.
People who think I’m nuts for protesting can tell me in so many words.
I have the freedom of hitting my liquor store and buying any kind of beer I want.
You have the freedom of not drinking or being an alcoholic.
I have the freedom to help those who are making an effort to help themselves.
You have the freedom to say we should help everybody regardless if they are screwing the system.
I have the freedom of asking, you like to help those who are screwing the system too?
You have the freedom of saying, well we’re a world community and we should help everybody.
I have the freedom to tell you to shut up moron.
You have the freedom to sit there with your mouth wide open as I tell you to shut up again.
I have the freedom to be pissed off a professional football player gets 30 days in jail for killing a pedestrian while driving drunk.
The judge had the freedom of reducing this to 24 days.
I have the freedom of telling the truth.
Politicians have the freedom of lying. And lying about lying.
I have the freedom to be faithful to my spouse.
Politicians have the freedom of cheating on their spouses. And lie about cheating on their spouses.
I have the freedom of having a heated debate about which Transformer movie is best.
You have the freedom of agreeing or disagreeing with me.
I have the freedom of telling you Starbucks coffee is better than Dunkin Donuts coffee.
You have the freedom to tell me you think Tim Horton's coffee is best.
I have the freedom of saying yes and no.
You have the freedom of saying yes and no.
I have freedom. And so do you.
As silly as some of the list may sound to some, they are nevertheless freedoms. Freedoms we can enjoy. Many in this country take our freedoms for granted. Except for a few laws to keep us in check, we can pretty much do anything we want. Freedom has a price and a great many men, women, and children paid this price. For me. And for you. For us. We should be doing our part for future generations as what was done for us. And just a little message to those who live here who think America sucks. You have the freedom to leave this country. Sayanora to you and Happy Fourth of July to those who enjoy and cherish our freedom!
Random Thoughts Of An Angry Half-Asian Man
I'm not anti-social. I'm anti-Socialism.
It is a tragedy Michael Jackson passed away but please give me a freakin' break already! Let Michael rest in peace.
How do you people who voted for Obama feel now?
Make the world a better place, punch David Letterman in his gap-tooted mouth and ugly ass face. Making jokes about anybody's children is open season to EMTs picking your dental work off the concrete.
Once again, I will reiterate. If I was President, there would be no more North Korea.
I'm just so curious to when the media players are going to grow a set of balls and ask anyone in the Obama administration a real freakin' question.
I used to like Janeane Garofalo. But she opened her mouth and showed she isn't the brightest environmentally friendly light bulb out there.
Until next time . . .
